Aligning our chakras is a vital step in our spiritual healing journey.
Chakras are energetic vortexes located throughout our bodies. When correctly aligned, the chakras are linked and allow us to connect deeper with ourselves and our body, mind, and spirit to work harmoniously together. We have seven main chakras starting at the base of our spine and ending at the top of our head. Every chakra deals with a different issue and requires separate methods of rebalancing.
This two-part blog post will walk you through all 7 Chakras. Today we’ll focus on Root, Sacral and Solar and stay tuned for part 2 to go over Heart, Throat, Third Eye, and Crown.
Root Chakra // Muladhara
Located at the base of our spine, the root chakra is the lowest and first chakra in our system.
It serves as the foundation of our body’s energy system and provides a sense of security, allowing us to be grounded and stable in our outer world. Our means of survival- food, water, and other necessities are tied to this chakra. When we are unable to feel grounded and safe, our root chakra may become misaligned. An overactive root chakra results in a lack of energy, sense of belonging, and pessimistic thinking. Those who suffer from an overactive Root Chakra may be impatient and easily angry. It also leads to an obsession with money and material goods and other forms of greed.

Sacral Chakra // Swadhisthana
The second lowest chakra in our bodies is known as the Sacral Chakra and is responsible for pleasure and sensuality. An aligned Sacral Chakra will provide us with heightened creativity, sociability, and joy. Because it is related to the element of water, balancing this energy center will also help with flexibility as well as dealing with our emotions. A balanced Sacral Chakra will allow you to healthily feel your deepest emotions and better connect with ourselves at others.
When this chakra is blocked, you may experience a lowered libido, difficulty expressing emotions, an inability to understand personal boundaries and needs, and a predisposition towards addiction. An overactive Sacral Chakra may result in obsessive behavior, tendency towards escapism, and over emotional reactions.

Solar Plexus Chakra // Manipura
The Solar Plexus Chakra is in the naval region of our bodies and is associated with personal power and self-confidence. It raises our mental abilities such as decision making and clarity. In addition, a balanced Solar Plexus Chakra promotes self-expression, allowing us to feel more independent and confident. This will help you take control of your own life.
Those with an under-active Solar Plexus will struggle with poor self-esteem and lowered confidence. They will often lack a sense of purpose, leaving them feeling needy or helpless. This creates constant searching for approval. When this chakra is overactive, many may engage in control or even manipulative behavior. They will be highly critical of others and react aggressively to opposition.
